Shop Downtown

Mario's

For a grand start to your downtown shopping, go to the family-owned Portland-based luxe emporium, Mario’s (833 SW Broadway), which carries Prada, Dolce, Louboutin, Kiton and Brioni. From there, you’ll be just blocks away from another venerable Portland retailer, John Helmer Haberdasher, as well as a number of national shops like Banana Republic, Abercrombie & Fitch, and St. John. Two fine jewelers, Margulis and Carl Greve face each other across Pioneer Square a jaywalk away from Nordstrom.

Mercantile (735 SW Park), near Nordstrom, offers young designer collections like Nanette Lepore, Diane Von Furstenberg, M. Missoni, and Elie Tahari, its windows often bursting with Burberry.

Pioneer Place (700 SW 5th Ave) is an indoor shopping center where you’ll find Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, and Coach as well as the new Collier (340 SW Morrison) with fine Italian menswear from Brioni, Zegna, Ferre, Corneliani, and Altea Milano while it’s cousin The Showroom (604 SW 9th) has discounted designer goods.

Dayna Pinkham Millinery (515 SW Broadway) is the finest milliner on the West Coast with smart, modern, handblocked hats made one-by-one in Pinkham’s on-site studio.

Jonny Sole (815 SW Alder) began as an urban shoe store and has expanded into the floor above with contemporary clothes for men and women.

Leeann Steckhan’s Artemisia Boutique (300 SW Stark) features lines like Velvet, Cynthia Steffe, Max Studio, French Connection and more.
