Spring it is, and with the number of shops opening, any metaphor related to flora—sprouting, blooming, nosing its way out of the sodden earth toward the faint sun, etc. etc.—would be apt. Seven months in the making, Amalee opens in the former home of Duchess at 909 N Beech on May 4. Leeann and Todd Molinari with their good friend Amanda Senten are stocking Amalee with KKoni, Matty M, Renee Bardot and emerging lines Virginia Castaway and Smitten plus a small selection of vintage jewelry and handbags. Leeann says that she and Amanda are the fashion minds while Todd’s the business muscle. The store name? A combo of the two girls names (did you figure that out already?). Poor Todd, but then Amaletodd or Todannaman just don’t have the same lovely ring to them, do they?
